Une chose est sûr, c’est que l’on en avait besoin : un vrai weekend en amoureux après la naissance de Raphaël. Pourquoi ? Parce qu’on avait tout simplement besoin de se retrouver loin du quotidien.

C’était autour du début du mois de Novembre soit environs 1 mois et demi après l’arrivée de Raphaël, alors je sais cela peut paraître prématuré de partir comme ça seulement quelques semaines après la naissance de son fils.

Mais avec femme, on avait besoin de se retrouver tous les deux, loin du quotidien, alors quand on eut l’opportunité de s’évader on a pris notre petit bout de choux et on est partit sans hésitation. Et aujourd’hui si vous me poser la question : le referiez-vous ? Je vous répondrais oui sans aucun doute.

L’Eden Ouest

Une ancienne maison d’armateur transformée en B&B d’exception

Après avoir quitté Paris en fin de journée, c’est donc tard dans la nuit après 5h00 de route avec une ou deux pauses biberons que nous atteignons la Rochelle.  Arrivé tard dans la nuit c’est donc le lendemain matin que j’ai eu le plaisir de faire la connaissance de Lise et Bertrand qui ont eu la gentilles de nous recevoir dans leurs belle maison d’hôtes situé au cœur de la vielle ville.

Pour la petite histoire, originaire d’Albi, il a avait envie de se lancer dans une nouvelle aventure, alors quand ils ont su que cette jolie battisse situé au cœur de la Rochelle était à vendre, amoureux de la côte atlantique ils n’ont hésité. Un an et demi  plus tard après d’important travaux de rénovation, ils ouvrent cette année les portes de leur maison d’hôte au public après avoir transformé cette ancienne maison d’armateur du 18e siècle en un véritable petit paradis qui ont tout naturellement appelé l’Eden Ouest en référence à son jardin intérieur aussi luxuriant que sublime.

Le charme des maisons d’autrefois

 

Ce que j’ai beaucoup aimé chez Lise, c’est le charme de sa maison, une fois passé le pas de la porte on se sent presque à la campagne. Aussi curieux que cela peut être, être en pleine ville et même temps au calme préservé du tumulte du centre-ville est un luxe que l’on n’a pas boudé.

Surtout qu’à l’intérieur tout est fait pour vous mettre à l’aise, chaque chambres est équipé à la fois d’une baignoire et d’une douche. Petit bonus dans la nôtre nous avions même un hammam privé. Bon, je nous explique même pas le bien que cela peut faire que de finir sa douche par un petit moment de détente et de relaxation.

Une fois sortie de la salle de bain, vous vous sentez apaiser, c’est comme si le break que vous enviez de faire avec le quotidien venait de se réaliser !

Le petit déjeuner 

Le weekend, c’est l’un des moments de la journée que je préfère, alors au réveille le samedi matin quel plaisir de retrouver un petit déjeuner complet préparer avec amour par Lise et Bertrand qui se sont levés de bonne heure pour aller nous chercher des croissants tous chauds et des fruits frais pour nous concocter une belle salade de fruit pour faire le plein de vitamine.

Prendre du temps

Quel bonheur que se retrouver avec sa femme et son fils loin du quotidien. Il suffit de petit moment comme cela pour décompresser et recharger les batteries

Visite de la vieille ville

 

Situé au centre de la Rochelle, au cœur de la vielle à 5 min à pied du vieux port et à deux pas du marché couvert quel joie que de pouvoir aller diner ou prendre un verre en ville en partant à pied. Oublié la voiture le temps d’un weekend, un pur plaisir!

Alors si vous êtes plutôt fine bouche comme ma femme et moi je vous suggère d’aller au restaurant « La Cabane des Pêcheurs » – 16, rue Thiers 17000 La Rochelles où nous avons pris un excellent diner. Une cuisine juste, des plats simples mais concocté avec beaucoup d’amour, bref de l’entrée au dessert un vrai régal.

Côté prix, compté entre 30€ à 40€ pour un menu complet. Enfin, petit conseille penser à réserver pour être sûr d’avoir un table car on y mange très bien au Cabanon des Pêcheurs et cela comme à ce savoir.
